Kumar Engineering

We are down on New Colony Road No. 3, specifically on Birsa Path in Chota Ghamaria, Adityapur. This part of town is very industrial and you can always hear the sound of machines or trucks passing by. Our workshop is where we do all the engineering work. We have different tools and machinery scattered around the floor. It’s usually a bit greasy and there is metal dust here and there, but that’s how a workshop should be. We take on various jobs, sometimes small repairs and other times bigger projects that take a few weeks. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the parts fit together properly. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a clean suit; we are usually in our work clothes and covered in a bit of dirt. The road outside can get quite dusty, especially in the dry season. We’ve been at this location for years and the neighbors are all doing similar kinds of work. We mostly just talk to people who walk in with a problem that needs fixing. It’s practical work and we take it one job at a time. There is a small bench out front where we sit for a break now and then. We don’t have a big front office, just the space where the work happens. It’s just how we do things here.
