Bijay Engg. Works

Our workshop, Bijay Engg. Works, is situated in Bandhan Tola. We are right opposite the railway goods shed. It’s a very practical location for an engineering place like ours. There is always the sound of metal clanging or machines running throughout the day. We do a lot of repair work and custom engineering jobs for local clients. People bring in broken parts or sketches of things they need made from scratch. It’s a hands-on life for everyone here. We don't sit in air-conditioned offices all day. We are usually out on the floor with the tools and the machines. The area around the goods shed is always busy with trucks and laborers. It can get pretty chaotic during the middle of the day. We’ve been in Bandhan Tola for many years now. Most of the people working around here are like family to us. We know the other shop owners and we help each other out when someone is short-handed. We don't have a mission statement or any of that stuff. We just fix what’s broken and build what’s needed. Sometimes a job is harder than it looks, and we have to stay late to figure out a solution. We don't mind the extra hours. It’s just what we do. The smell of oil and grease is just part of the everyday atmosphere.
