Alight Engineering Works

Alight Engineering Works is located at Plot No. 83-3 in the GIDC area of Shankar Tekri. It is an engineering shop through and through. The air inside smells like cutting oil and hot metal. We have lathes and milling machines that have been with us for years. Shankar Tekri is a place where people come when they need things built or repaired. We aren't a big corporation. It is a local shop where we know our customers by their first names. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings. We wear work clothes that stay stained no matter how many times they are washed. Our plot is not huge but we make the most of the space we have. There is a lot of pride in just getting a piece of engineering right. Sometimes a job takes longer than expected because the metal is stubborn. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us at the back near the machines. The GIDC can be a noisy place but it is where we belong. We’ve been doing this at Plot 83-3 for a long time. It is honest work. We fix what is broken and make new parts from scratch. There is always a pot of tea going somewhere in the back for whoever stops by to talk about a job.
