Shri Sarkari Uchh Madhyamik Shala

This is the government higher secondary school located at the Sinior Lokshala Campus. We are out in Samana, which is part of the Jamjodhpur taluka in Jamnagar. It’s a fairly large campus, number 63, so there is a bit of breathing room compared to city schools. Since it’s a government school, we get students from all over the surrounding villages. They come by bus or cycle every morning. We handle the older kids, the ones in the higher standards. The buildings are spread out a bit. It’s a practical environment. We have the usual labs and classrooms that are required for the secondary level. The walls are painted a simple color and we have plenty of benches. It gets busy during the exam seasons, everyone is a bit more serious then. During the rest of the year, it’s just the normal routine of lectures and breaks. The staff room is usually a hub of activity with teachers grading papers. We don’t have fancy decorations. It’s about the work. The campus has some trees which provide nice shade during the hotter months in Jamnagar. Most people around Samana know the Lokshala area well. We’ve been a fixture here for a long time. It’s a place where kids finish their schooling before heading off to college or work. We just stay busy keeping the place running. It's a big responsibility but we take it day by day. The classrooms are full and the hallways are loud during the breaks, but that's just how it goes.
