Nand Vidya Niketan

Nand Vidya Niketan is situated right on the Dhichda Ring Road in Jamnagar. If you’ve been out this way, you know the wind can get quite strong coming off the coast. Our school building is a familiar landmark for people driving along the ring road. We have a pretty large campus, which is good because we have plenty of students coming in from different parts of Jamnagar. The mornings are always a bit chaotic with the buses arriving and the kids scrambling to find their classrooms before the first bell. We don't have a very formal corporate atmosphere here. Instead, it feels more like a big family where everyone is constantly talking or looking for something they misplaced. The teachers spend a lot of time in the staff room grading papers and drinking tea when they get a break. The classrooms are well-used, with some scuffs on the walls and desks that have seen many years of students. We don’t try to pretend to be anything we aren't. We’re a local school providing an education to the kids in this part of Gujarat. It’s a lot of hard work and the days are long, but seeing the students grow up and eventually leave for college makes it feel worth the effort. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. Every day is a bit different out here by the coast.
