We’ve been operating out of 40, Bedi for quite a long time now, and most people in Jamnagar know where we are. S L Shah Kalarav Higher Secondary School isn’t some fancy new building with glass walls, it’s just a solid, dependable place where students come to get through their higher secondary years. Being in the Jamnagar - 361001 area means we’re right in the middle of things, and the mornings are always a bit of a scramble as the kids arrive. The classrooms have that old school smell of chalk and paper, and the desks have seen a lot of use over the years. We’re located in the Tal Jamnagar part of the district, which is a busy spot. Our staff members mostly live around here, so they don’t have far to travel. There’s always someone sweeping the floors or fixing a leaky tap because an old building needs a lot of looking after. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that, we just have a few people in the office handling the forms and the fees. During the summer, it gets pretty hot in Jamnagar, but we just keep the fans going and carry on with the lessons. It’s a simple life here at the school. We see the same faces every day, and we like that regularity. It feels like we are just a small, necessary part of the neighborhood.
