You’ll find Shree Shreyas Vidyalay out on the Jodiya Bhadanpar Road in the Jamnagar area. The 361250 address puts us right on the edge of town. It’s a pretty quiet spot compared to the center of Jodiya. We have a decent-sized plot of land here, so there’s plenty of fresh air for the students during the day. The school itself is a collection of simple buildings that we’ve added to over time. We don’t have much in the way of decoration; it’s mostly just functional classrooms and a small office for the paperwork. Most of the people working here have been part of the staff for a decade or more. We know the families in the area well and we’ve seen brothers and sisters from the same house come through our doors. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do here. We just teach the kids their lessons and make sure they follow the rules. The playground is mostly just flat ground where they play cricket or tag during the lunch break. Sometimes the wind blows in from the fields and carries a bit of a smell of earth and rain, which is nice. We spend our time grading papers and talking about how to help the kids who are struggling with their math or science. It’s a basic life, but we like it. The school is a steady presence on the road to Bhadanpar and we plan to keep it that way for the future.
