Vijay Shri Granites

Vijay Shri Granites is situated in the Shantinath Industrial Area, right near the railway station in Bhagli Sindhlan. You can usually hear the trains going by while we work. The location is pretty convenient for getting materials in and out. We spend most of our time out in the yard among the stacks of granite. It’s a lot of lifting and shifting. We don't have much of a front office, just a small space to keep the logs. Most of the action happens out where the saws are. We see a lot of different people coming through, from builders to families looking at stone for their new floors. We just let them walk around and see what we’ve got. The sun can be pretty brutal out here in the open, but we just keep moving. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the people in the industrial area. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. There’s no polish on our talk, just like there’s no polish on the stone until we get to work on it. We keep things simple and just try to stay on top of the orders. Some days the yard is packed and we’re tripping over slabs, and other days we’re cleaning up the scraps. It’s just the daily grind of the granite business, and we’re fine with that. We just show up and do what needs doing.
