Shree Suriya Granite Industries

If you head down Bhinmal Road and look opposite the Bhiloka Dhuna, you will find us in the Chaudhry Industrial Area. Shree Suriya Granite Industries is basically a big yard full of heavy rocks. It’s in Matalpura, which can be a bit of a drive depending on where you are coming from. The ground is always covered in stone dust and the sound of the cutters is pretty constant during the day. We deal with granite, so everything we touch is heavy and cold to start with. It takes a lot of effort to move things around, and we use the cranes and trolleys all day long. The sun really beats down on this part of the industrial area, so it gets hot in the sheds. We don't have any fancy air-conditioned showrooms. You just walk through the rows of slabs and see the natural patterns for yourself. Some of the stone is rough and some is smooth, and we spend our time sorting through them for different orders. It’s a tough job and we all go home tired, but it’s good to see the finished pieces ready to go out. We’ve been at this location for quite some time now, and the neighbors know us by the sound of the machinery. It’s just a group of us working hard with what the earth provides.
