Our place is over in the IIIrd Phase, specifically at F-218. Being in an industrial area means we are surrounded by a lot of similar setups. Rajpal & Ajit Stone Pvt. Ltd. has its own little spot here among the factories. The road outside can get pretty torn up from all the heavy loads, so we are always watching where we drive. Inside the gate, it is mostly just stacks of stone and the sound of the overhead crane. It isn't the quietest place to spend your day, but you get used to the noise after the first week. We spend a lot of time on the phone or walking through the rows of slabs to find exactly what someone asked for. We don't go in for anything fancy. The office is just a small room with a few chairs and a lot of paperwork. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the stall down the road. The guys working the floor have been with us for a long time, so they know exactly how to move the material without a lot of fuss. When the sun hits the stone in the afternoon, the whole yard lights up. It is a simple life of managing stock and dealing with the logistics of getting stone from one place to another. We just try to keep things organized and keep the machines maintained so there aren't any surprises during the week. It’s a lot of work, but we like it here and we focus on the task at hand.
