Radhika Granites

We are over at Plot No 18 Industrial. Area, Bishangarh. Radhika Granites is basically a big open space where we keep all our stock. Being in an industrial area, it’s mostly about utility here. There are a lot of other businesses around, so there’s always the sound of machinery and trucks. We spend our hours moving granite slabs around with the crane or by hand if they’re smaller. It’s not the cleanest job, as there’s always stone dust in the air and on our clothes. We don't have a showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just the yard and the stone. Most people who come to see us are looking for something specific for a building project. We just walk around the plot with them and show them what’s available. Bishangarh can get quite dusty, especially in the dry months, so we’re always cleaning the granite so the patterns show up. It’s a lot of physical labor, and we’re usually pretty tired by the end of the shift. We don’t use any fancy marketing talk. We just tell people what the stone is and where it came from. It’s a simple, honest way to work. We’ve been in this plot for years and we’ve seen the industrial area change a lot, but the work we do stays pretty much the same. We just keep things moving and try to stay organized as much as possible.
