Durga Stone

Our yard is located out on Jalore Road, right near the Idbi Bank. If you’re looking for Majilpur or the Bagra post office, we’re in that general area. We work with various types of stone, mostly what we can source locally or bring in from nearby quarries. It’s a dusty place to work, but that’s just how it is with stone. We spend our days sorting through blocks and seeing what’s good enough to sell. There’s no big corporate office here, just a small shed where we keep the tools and the paperwork. We usually have a couple of guys out in the sun moving things around. It’s slow work sometimes, especially when we’re waiting for a new load to arrive. We’ve seen the road get much busier over the years with more cars and trucks passing by. Most of our customers are locals who are building something nearby and need a few slabs or blocks. We don’t do any big advertising. Word gets around, and that’s usually enough for us. Sometimes we sit outside and have tea while waiting for a customer to arrive. It’s a steady pace of life. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. It’s just a stone yard on a busy road. We do our best to keep things tidy, even if the dust always seems to win in the end. It's simple work but we like it.
