Choudhary Granite

We are out here in Badli village, near the Bhirmal Road. It’s a rural setting, which suits the kind of work we do with granite. The business is run right from our yard in the Singhlan taluka. We have big machines for cutting the stone and a lot of space to keep the finished slabs. The ground is usually covered in granite chips and water from the cooling saws. It’s not a place where you’d wear your best shoes. We spend most of our daylight hours outside, checking the quality of the blocks that come in. There isn't a team of marketing people here. It is just a few of us who know how to handle the heavy lifting. We don’t have a polished story about how we started. We just had the space and the access to the stone, so we began working. Sometimes the power goes out and the saws stop, so we just sit and wait or do some manual cleaning until it comes back on. That’s just how it is in the village. Most of our visitors are local contractors or people building their own houses nearby. We show them the different shades of grey and black granite we have. It’s straightforward work. We don't try to make it sound like more than it is. It's just stone and hard work. Even when the dust gets thick, we just keep going until the last truck is loaded for the day.
