B.R. Stone

Down in Village Bhagli, specifically in the Jalore district, is where we have B.R. Stone set up. It’s a quiet spot compared to the big city industrial areas, but we keep ourselves busy. We work with the local stone that this region is famous for. Most of our days are spent out in the yard, moving blocks or slabs around with the machinery. It’s a family-style environment here in Bhagli, and we know most of the people who come to buy from us. We don’t go in for big displays or shiny signs. The stone is just sitting there in the dirt, and you can see exactly what you are getting. We handle everything from small orders for a single room to larger loads for bigger houses. The weather in Jalore can be quite hot, so we usually take a break in the middle of the day when the sun is right overhead. People around here appreciate that we don't try to push them into buying things they don't need. We just show the slabs, talk about the thickness, and figure out the transport. It’s a simple way of doing business, and it’s worked for us for a long time. There's a lot of dust and it's physical work, but seeing a finished floor made from our stone is a good feeling. We’re just regular folks making a living from the earth. It is a slow and steady life here in the village, and that suits us just fine.
