Madhav Granites

We set up Madhav Granites out by Bagra Road, right near Bhagli Circle. It’s a bit of a dusty area because of all the stone work going on around here. We spend most of our days moving slabs around and talking to truck drivers who come in from the quarries. The yard is big enough for the trucks to turn, which was why we chose this spot in the first place. It’s not a fancy showroom like you might see in the city center. We have piles of granite everywhere and the sound of the cutters is pretty much constant during the day. Sometimes the rain makes the ground a bit muddy, so we have to wear heavy boots. My uncle started this and now a few of us cousins manage the daily stuff. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for deliveries to show up. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside and the stone gets warm to the touch. We don’t use any big marketing tricks. People just know we’re here at the circle. We show them what we have on the racks and they decide. If something is cracked, we move it to the side. We keep things pretty simple. The ledger is kept in a small wooden desk in the corner of the shed. It’s just a local business trying to get the job done right and making sure we stay on top of the orders.
