Veerendra Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Jalgaon. To be specific, we are at Plot No.2 in Khaperkhede Dhamangaon. Jalgaon is known for bananas and cotton, and that’s what most of our members are dealing with every day. We aren’t in a big city center. It’s more of a village atmosphere here where everyone knows your name. The office is just a place to keep the records and meet up when we need to decide on something for the group. We started this because individual farmers were having a hard time getting a fair deal from the middle men. By coming together as a producer company, we have a bit more weight when we talk to buyers. It's tough work though. The heat in Jalgaon-425002 can be really something during the summer months. We spend a lot of time thinking about irrigation and how to get the crops to the market before they spoil. It’s not fancy at all. We have some basic equipment and a lot of shared knowledge. People in Khaperkhede know us well. We don’t run ads or have a marketing plan. Most of our members just walk in or call us on their mobiles when they have a problem. We try to keep things simple and honest. The paperwork takes a while because the rules are always changing, but we manage somehow. It’s just a group of us from the local area trying to make sure the farming stays profitable.
