Jotish Chandra Rice Mill

Our mill is out in Village Naigaon, over in Muktai Nagar. Jotish Chandra Rice Mill has been here for years. It's a lot of dust and noise, but that's how a rice mill works. We take the paddy from the local farmers and process it. The machines are old but they still run okay if you oil them right and keep an eye on them. People around Naigaon know where we are. It’s a simple operation. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just the main shed and the storage area where the bags are kept. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, like when it rains too much and the roads get muddy and the trucks get stuck. We just keep working through it. The workers are mostly local guys from the village. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot in the afternoon. Muktai Nagar is a quiet place otherwise. You can hear the mill from down the road when we are busy. We don't spend much time on talk, just getting the rice packed and moved out. The trucks come in and out all day. It’s hard work, and your clothes get dirty fast. But it’s what we do for a living. The bags are heavy, and moving them takes a lot of effort. We have a routine that we follow every day. Not much changes here. We've seen the village grow a bit, but the mill stays the same. Just a place to process grain and keep things moving for the farmers.
