If you head down Dulia Road in Chalisgaon, you’ll find us at Anil Kalyanrao Ahirao’s place. That’s where Pohare-Chalisgaon Farmer Producer Company Limited runs things. It’s a local setup, nothing too complicated. Being in the Jalgaon district, we are right in the middle of a lot of farming activity, which keeps us pretty busy most of the year. We aren't trying to be some huge international firm. We’re just a bunch of local farmers who thought it made sense to work together instead of everyone doing their own thing and struggling alone. There’s a lot of back and forth between the members. One guy has a tractor, another has a good storage shed, and we try to share what we can. The office is really just a spot to handle the government forms and keep track of who contributed what. Chalisgaon can get pretty hot, and the work is tiring, but having the company makes it feel a bit more stable. We deal with the crops that grow well in this soil, mostly whatever the season allows. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy speeches. Most of our days are spent out in the dirt or sitting around a table trying to figure out the transport costs. It’s just us, working the land and hoping for a decent harvest so we can keep the lights on and the families fed.
