Our group is all about the Gir cows and the milk they produce here in Tarkheda Bk. We are located in the Pachora area of Jalgaon. Umesh Prakash Patil is the one who helps keep the operation running from his house. We started this because we wanted to focus on the traditional Deshi cows that have been here for ages. Milk is a daily business, so there are no holidays for us. Every morning and evening, the work has to be done. We are just local farmers who care about our cattle and the milk we get from them. It's a busy life. We have to manage the feed, the health of the cows, and then getting the milk to the right places. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy office. Most of our time is spent in the sheds or talking to other dairy farmers in the village. We try to help each other find better ways to take care of the animals. It's honest work and it keeps our hands full. Sometimes the equipment breaks or the weather makes transport difficult, but we just deal with it. It’s a very grounded way of living. We aren't looking for fame, just a way to keep our traditions alive and make sure our families are taken care of through our dairy work. It’s a long day from dawn till dusk but we keep at it.
