Kendriya Vidyalaya

The Kendriya Vidyalaya here in Jalgaon is a pretty well-known spot in the city. It is a standard government-style building that was built more for function than for style. We have a lot of students whose parents work in government jobs or are in the military, so there is always a bit of a mix of people from different places. The halls are wide and usually quite noisy during the breaks between classes. We have a large playground which is good for the kids, though it does get very dry and dusty during the summer months. The furniture in the classrooms is a bit old, and you can see where students from years ago have scratched their names into the wood. We do not try to make the place look like a luxury hotel; it is a school for learning, and it looks like one. Our staff room is usually cluttered with notebooks and tea cups, and we spend a lot of time just keeping up with the official paperwork and the exams. We do not do any marketing or special promotions. People come to us because they know the system and they want a straightforward education for their children. It is a no-nonsense environment where the main goal is just to follow the curriculum and make sure the students are prepared for their tests. It is a very basic, honest sort of place.
