Eco Green Farmers Producer Company Limited

You can find us at the house of Ramdas Tryambak Patil in Nimbol, which is part of the Raver area. We are the Eco Green Farmers Producer Company. It’s a small operation, really just a group of local farmers trying to work as one unit. Raver is known for its crops, so we are right in the middle of everything. Our office is basically just a room in a house where we keep the ledger books and talk about the prices. There’s usually a lot of tea drinking and talking about the weather, because the rain makes or breaks our week. We don't have a big staff. It is just a few of us who know each other well. We spend our time figuring out how to get the harvest from Nimbol to the bigger markets without losing too much money. It’s a lot of coordination on old cell phones and writing things down on paper. We don't use any fancy software or have a marketing budget. Most people find out about us just by talking to their neighbors. We are just regular people who grow things for a living. Sometimes the harvest is great and sometimes it’s a struggle, but that’s just how farming goes. We don't try to sugarcoat it. We just work the land and try to help each other out when things get tough. It’s a very local way of doing business, rooted right here in the village. It is simple work but it keeps us all going throughout the year.
