Talbro Forgings sits at C-2, Industrial Estate, and you can usually hear us before you see us. Forging is loud business. The hammers make a rhythm that you get used to after a few days, though visitors always seem a bit surprised by the noise. It’s hot work too. The furnaces are running most of the time, and the air smells like hot metal and oil. We’ve been in this industrial estate for years. The building is a bit older now, but it’s solid and holds the heavy gear without any trouble. We don't have a fancy lobby or a lot of decorations. There are just benches, tools, and the raw materials waiting to be shaped. Most of us here have calluses on our hands and grease under our fingernails. It’s the kind of place where you learn by doing. A new guy might start out just moving parts, but eventually, he learns the feel of the metal. We don't talk much while the machines are running because you can't hear anything anyway. We use hand signals or just wait for the break. It’s a simple setup at C-2. We have our routine, we have our regulars who come by, and we just keep the hammers moving. It’s steady, hard work that doesn't need a lot of explaining. We’re just a part of the landscape in this industrial park, doing what we've always done. We handle everything from the initial heating to the final cooling.
