Atm Forgings

Atm Forgings is located at D-163 in the Focal Point Extension area. If you come by, you will hear us before you see us. Forging is loud work, and there is no way around that. We deal with heat and heavy hammers all day. It’s not the kind of job for someone who wants to stay clean and cool. The air in the unit is usually thick and warm, especially in the middle of the afternoon. We have been working out of this spot in the extension for some time. We know all the other shop owners on the street. We help each other out when someone needs a tool or an extra hand with a heavy load. Our day starts before the sun is fully up so we can get the furnaces going. We don't have a website or any big marketing plans. We just have our name on the gate and the work we do. Most of our time is spent watching the metal change shape under the hammers. It takes a lot of focus and a bit of muscle. We have some old benches where we sit for our breaks, usually just having some water and talking about nothing in particular. It’s a rough environment, but there is a logic to it. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just do the forging and go home to rest.
