Arora Sweets Industry

Arora Sweets Industry is located on Anaj Mandi Road, not far from the Shaheed Udham Singh School. The smell of sugar and frying dough is usually what tells people they are close to our door. We start very early in the morning when the air is still cool to get the first batches ready. It is a messy job with flour and sugar everywhere but that is just part of making sweets. The shop gets very busy during the festival seasons and we often stay up late to finish all the orders. The street outside is always full of cycles and carts since it’s near the grain market. Sometimes it’s hard to even walk on the sidewalk because of the crowds. We have been in this spot for years and our equipment has a few dents and scratches but it still works fine. We don't use any fancy packaging unless someone asks for it. Most of our customers are local people who have been buying from us since they were children. It is nice to see the same families coming back year after year for their sweets. We just focus on getting the recipes right and making sure there is enough for everyone. It isn't a complicated business but it takes a lot of patience and long hours standing by the stove.
