Thar Safari

Thar Safari is our small business based out of Gandhi Chowk in Jaisalmer. This part of the town is usually buzzing with people, bikes, and cows. We have been set up in this location for quite some time now. Our main thing is taking people out into the sand dunes, but we do it in a very local and simple way. We are not part of any big international travel chain or anything. It is just a few of us working from this small office in the 345001 area. The space we have is plain, with just enough room for a few chairs and a small table. We spend a lot of our time just talking to folks who want to know about the desert. Gandhi Chowk is a major landmark, so it is pretty easy for most people to find us. We do not have a big marketing budget for fancy posters. We just rely on people walking by and stopping in to ask questions. Sometimes we sit outside on a bench when the weather is nice. We know all the good spots in the dunes because we are out there all the time. Our families have lived in Jaisalmer for many generations. We do not try to be fancy or corporate. We just want to give people a real experience of our home. We are usually there from early morning until late in the evening every day.
