Gorbandh Palace

You can find us at the Tourist Complex on Sam Road in Jaisalmer. This area is quite famous for the sand dunes, but we are a bit further back. The building is made of that yellow sandstone that makes everything here look the same color as the desert. We have been running this place for a while. It has a courtyard in the middle where guests like to sit when the sun isn't too hot. We don't have a huge staff, just a few local guys who help with the luggage and the cleaning. The rooms are simple and we try to keep the dust out, but in Jaisalmer, the sand gets into everything eventually. We have a small kitchen that makes hot food for the travelers. Most people stay with us before they head out to the dunes for the night. It is a very quiet spot once the sun goes down. We don't have any of those fancy neon signs or big advertisements. Most people find us through the local travel guides or just by driving past. The stone walls keep the rooms relatively cool during the day, which is a relief. We spend our evenings sitting out front watching the cars go by on Sam Road. It is a simple way to live and we enjoy meeting people from different places.
