Daras Travels

You can find us on Jaisalmer Road in Pokaran. We are located right near the Bada Madarsa. Pokaran is a transit point for a lot of people traveling between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, so there is always a lot of traffic and noise on the road outside. We deal with buses and cars mostly. The office is just a room with some chairs and a table where we keep the logs. It gets quite noisy with the trucks passing by all day long. We spend most of the morning checking the schedules and making sure the drivers are where they need to be. It’s a busy life here. People stop by to book tickets or just to ask about the road conditions. We don't have a big marketing team or a shiny website. We just sit here and talk to whoever walks through the door. Sometimes we have tea with the local shopkeepers while things are quiet in the afternoon. The building is older, but it keeps the sun out well enough. We focus on the daily tasks like updating the seat charts and taking phone calls from travelers who are on their way. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning to night. We know the routes around Pokaran like the back of our hand because we have lived here so long. It's just how we live and work in this town. We are always here if someone needs a ride.
