Your Choice Salon

This shop, Your Choice Salon, is over on Chankay Mark near Subhash Chowk. The address is Plot No 1140, right in the middle of a very crowded part of Jaipur. It’s an old neighborhood, so the streets are narrow and there’s always someone shouting or a bike honking. I named it Your Choice because I wanted people to feel like they could ask for whatever style they wanted, even if I mostly just end up doing the same three or four basic cuts. It’s a modest place. The walls could use a new coat of paint, and the floor is a bit stained from years of work, but the equipment is good. I take care of my scissors and razors. People around Subhash Chowk know me well. They stop by just to say hello even if they don’t need a haircut. It gets really busy in the evenings when everyone is done with their jobs. I don't have a receptionist or anything, so if the phone rings, I just have to stop and answer it myself. It's just a one-man show mostly. I’ve thought about moving to a bigger place, but I like it here. It’s got a certain feel to it. People know where to find me, and I know everyone’s stories. It’s just a simple salon for regular people who want to look a bit neater without spending too much money. We're open late most days.
