Papaya Saras Parlour

Papaya Saras Parlour is right on M I Road, specifically at the Subhash Marg corner. This is a really busy part of the city, so we get a lot of foot traffic from people walking to work or tourists looking for a quick snack. We mostly deal with dairy products and cold drinks, which is great during the summer months when it’s boiling outside. The fridges hum all day long, and the shop is usually a bit cooler than the street, which is why people like to linger a bit longer than they probably should. We have a few small stools for people to sit on, but they're almost always taken. The floor gets a bit sticky from spilled juice or milk, so we’re constantly mopping it up with a bucket we keep in the back. It’s a fast-paced environment at the parlour, especially in the evenings when families come out for a treat. We don't have a big menu, just the things we know people like and that we can serve quickly. The signage is a bit faded from the sun, but everyone knows where we are because we’ve been on M I Road for such a long time. It’s a simple shop and we just try to keep the coolers stocked and the customers served. Subhash Marg is a good spot for us, and we enjoy the energy of the street.
