Shakshi Parlour

Shakshi Parlour is tucked away in Pratap Nagar, Sanganer, specifically at 30/9. It is a small place where women from the local area come to get their hair done or maybe some threading. We have a couple of chairs and big mirrors on the walls. The floor is easy to sweep because we do a lot of cutting. It is usually just one or two of us working here. We have some posters of different styles on the door. It’s not a fancy salon like you see in the malls. It is more of a neighborhood spot where everyone knows each other. People come in to chat as much as they do for the service. We keep the towels clean and the combs ready. Sometimes it’s very quiet and I just sit and wait for someone to walk in. Other times, like during a wedding nearby, we are busy from morning until late at night. The address is easy to find if you are familiar with the 30/9 block. We’ve been here for a few years now. The paint on the walls is a light color to make it feel a bit bigger. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just a place to get fixed up a bit. Most our customers live within walking distance of Pratap Nagar and they know our door is open.
