You’ll find Yaya Handicrafts at B-64 in Tilak Nagar. It’s a residential-feeling area but we have our workspace set up here. We make things by hand. It’s not a fast process. Sometimes a piece takes all day or even longer. We use basic tools and a lot of patience. Tilak Nagar is a good spot for us. It’s central enough but not as loud as the main markets. The building at B-64 is where we spend most of our time. There are piles of materials everywhere. Wood, fabric, bits of metal, whatever we are working with that week. It’s a bit messy, to be honest. But that’s how it is when you’re actually making things instead of just selling them. We aren't a big factory. It’s just a few of us sitting together and working. We talk about the news or what’s happening in the neighborhood while we work. The light in the workshop is okay in the mornings. We try to get the most done before it gets too hot. People sometimes walk past and peek in to see what we are doing. We don't mind. Yaya Handicrafts is just a small local operation. We don't have a website that’s updated or anything. If you want to see what we have, you just come to Tilak Nagar and see us.
