Satguru Textile And Handicrafts

We are located at P-95 Chandi Ki Taksal, right on Hawa Mahal Road. It’s a very old part of the city, and being right near the Hawa Mahal means there are always crowds of people around. Our shop, Satguru Textile And Handicrafts, is filled to the ceiling with all sorts of things. We have fabrics, old-style crafts, and a lot of hand-made items that we get from local artisans we've known for years. It’s a bit cramped inside, and the walls are covered in colorful cloths of all kinds. I’ve been working here since I was a teenager. My father taught me how to tell the difference between real silk and the cheap stuff. We don't have a big fancy storefront. It’s just an old building with a lot of character and some creaky floorboards that have seen a lot of foot traffic. People from all over the world wander in because they see the displays from the street. We don't use any high-pressure sales talk. We just let people look around and answer their questions if they have any. It gets very loud with the traffic on Hawa Mahal Road, but once you step inside, it feels a bit more peaceful. We spend our days unpacking new boxes and showing people the work our friends do. Even though the address says Goregaon, we are definitely right by the palace in the heart of the old town. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, day in and day out.
