Waves The Pub & Discotheque

You can find us right on Station Road. It’s a prime spot because there are always people coming and going from the station at all hours. Waves has been here for a good number of years now. During the day, it’s pretty quiet as we get everything ready for the night ahead. We spend time cleaning up from the night before and restocking the bar so we don't run out of anything. The floor can get a bit worn out from all the dancing, but that’s just how it is with a discotheque. We have a sound system that we’re always fiddling with to get it right for the crowd. It gets very loud once the sun goes down and the crowd starts coming in. We don't have any of that high-end luxury stuff, just a good space for people to hang out and have a drink. The lights are mostly colored and flashing once the music starts up. We see all kinds of people, from travelers waiting for a late train to locals looking for a night out. It can be a bit chaotic on Saturday nights, and we’re usually on our feet until very late in the morning. The staff is used to the long hours and the noise. We don't put on any acts; it’s just a place to grab a drink and hear some music. We keep the doors open and wait for the evening rush to begin. It's hard work.
