Smoke Lounge

Tonk Road is a long stretch of road and we are tucked away here. Smoke Lounge is where most of our work happens when the sun starts going down. During the day, it is mostly about cleaning up the mess from the night before and making sure the coal is ready. We spend a lot of time moving furniture around to make sure people have a place to sit. It’s a fairly dark space, which is how people seem to like it. We aren't some big chain, just a local spot where people come to hang out for an hour or two. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, and other times we keep it quiet depending on who is in. We have to keep an eye on the vents and the fans to make sure the air keeps moving. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for customers, then suddenly everyone arrives at once. We don't have a big menu, just the things we know we can do properly. The staff is small, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from washing glasses to checking on the customers. We don't use any big marketing slogans. We are just here on Tonk Road, keeping the lights on and the place ready for whoever walks in. It’s a simple way to make a living and we know our regulars well.
