Warp & Weft

You can find Warp & Weft at G-14 Krishna Marg over in C-Scheme. This part of town has a lot of character and we like being here. We deal with a lot of different fabrics and textiles. The shop isn't massive, but we pack a lot into it. There are rolls of cloth leaning against the walls and boxes that we haven't quite found a place for yet. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We spend our time talking to weavers and looking at different patterns that come in. It’s interesting work because you never quite know what the next batch will look like. Sometimes the colors are a bit different than we expected, but that’s just the nature of handmade things. We have a few old wooden tables where we lay everything out to check it over. The light in the afternoons is really good for seeing the true colors of the threads. Most people who come in are regulars from the nearby streets. We don't really do much advertising; people just seem to find us or hear about us from their friends. We have a small kettle in the back for making tea when it gets a bit quiet. It’s a slow-paced kind of business, which suits us just fine. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping the tradition of good fabric going. It keeps us busy and out of trouble, and that is more than enough for us.
