A. K. Textiles

Being over here at 3, Gem Vihar, we are right on Khadi Gramodhog Road. If you are looking for us, we are right across from Salim’S Papers, which most people know in this part of town. The road gets really busy with trucks and rickshaws, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to move goods around. Inside A. K. Textiles, things are a bit cramped because we have stacks of fabric everywhere. It smells like raw cotton and dye most of the time. We have a couple of big tables for measuring and cutting. It’s a simple setup we’ve had for years. The light isn't the best in the back, so we do most of the detailed work near the front door. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine. Salim from across the road usually pops in for a chat when things are quiet. We spend a lot of time checking the weaves and making sure the colors aren't running. It’s dusty work, and your hands end up a bit stained by the end of the day, but that’s just part of the textile life. We don't have any fancy displays or a showroom, just the workspace where the actual work happens. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is kept. Usually, we're here until late evening finishing up what needs to be sent out.
