Village Crafts India

Our shop, Village Crafts India, is down at 12, Tejaji Marg, right off New Sanganer Road in Sodala. If you’ve been through Sodala, you know how busy it gets. We’re in a spot that’s easy to reach but tucked away just enough. The place is full of all kinds of craft items made by people from different villages. It’s a bit cluttered, to be honest. We have things stacked on shelves and sometimes even on the floor when a new shipment comes in. We spend a lot of time unpacking boxes and checking for any damage. It’s a very hands-on job. We don’t use any high-tech systems for tracking things; we mostly use notebooks and our own memories. The staff here is like a small family. We’ve known each other for years. Tejaji Marg has its own rhythm, and we’re part of it. Some days we have people coming in just to look around, and other days we’re busy packing up orders to send away. It’s not a polished showroom. It’s more of a working store where you can smell the wood and the fabric. We like it that way. It feels real. We just try to get these village-made things into the hands of people who want them. It’s a simple way to spend the day and we have plenty of work to keep us occupied.
