Vidya Maths Point

Vidya Maths Point is over on Gandhi Path in the Guru Jammshwar area of Vaishali Nagar. If you know this part of Jaipur, you know it’s grown a lot lately. I opened this place because I’ve always liked working with numbers, and it just seemed like a good idea to have a dedicated spot for it. The rooms are basic, just enough space for the students to sit and write. Maths requires a lot of practice, so we go through a lot of paper and chalk here. I still prefer using a chalkboard for some things, even though we have the whiteboards too. There is something about the sound of chalk that feels right. The office is just a small corner with a wooden desk where I sit to talk to parents. We don’t have a fancy website or any of that. Most people just drop by because they saw the sign while driving down Gandhi Path. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we have the fans going full speed. Sometimes it’s hard to hear over the noise, but we get used to it. The neighborhood is mostly families, so it’s a safe and quiet place for the students to come. I usually have a tea around four o’clock from the guy who comes around on his cycle. It’s a simple routine, day in and day out.
