Vatsalya Senior Secondary School

Our school is located right at House No.38 in the Cantt area, very close to Pili Kothi and the Civil Lines. It is an older part of town, so things are usually a bit quiet around here except for when the bell rings and all the students come rushing out at once. We have kids from the neighborhood coming in every morning, mostly walking or riding their bicycles. The building is just a regular place, nothing too modern or shiny, but it stays cool enough in the summer because the walls are thick. We spend our days making sure the classrooms are ready and the kids are actually sitting in their seats. It gets pretty loud during the lunch break when everyone is out in the yard near the gate. Being near Civil Lines means we get a mix of families from all over this side of town. Many of the teachers here have been around for years, so they know most of the parents by their first names. We do not have fancy gadgets in every room, but we have enough desks and chalkboards to get through the lessons. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows and keep going with the day. It is just how things are here. We try to keep the place tidy, though with hundreds of kids running around, there is always a bit of dust or a stray piece of paper somewhere. It is a busy life, but it is what we do.
