Shri Bhawani Niketan Public School

The traffic on Sikar Road is always something else, especially in the mornings when the buses are trying to turn in. Our gates at Shri Bhawani Niketan Public School stay open for the early arrivals, and it’s usually quite a scramble. Jaipur gets incredibly hot by noon, so everyone tries to get the heavy work done while it’s still relatively cool out. It’s just a normal, everyday place where kids learn their math and science. The playground gets a lot of use during the break time, even if it's a bit dusty. Teachers are usually busy with stacks of paper in the staff room, complaining about the heat or the latest exam results. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a clicking sound that won't go away, but nobody really minds it much after a while. We’ve been here in this spot for quite a bit. You can see the old walls and the trees that have grown tall over the years. People in the neighborhood know who we are. Parents stop by to talk about their kids' grades or just to drop off a lunchbox that got left behind on the kitchen table. It’s not fancy or anything. We have the usual blackboards and wooden benches that have seen better days. The hallway gets very noisy when the bell rings for lunch, which is just part of the routine. We keep things running day after day. It’s a lot of work, but seeing the students grow up makes it feel okay. You walk down the road and you can hear the assembly if you’re early. It’s just a school doing its thing.
