Vageshvri Sacondary School

Our school, Vageshvri Sacondary School, is located right near the Railway Club in Ratangarh. It is a very familiar spot for anyone living in this part of Churu. Being so close to the tracks means we hear the trains going by all day long, but after a while, you just stop noticing the noise. The students definitely don't seem to mind. We have been running this place for a long time and the building has that lived-in feel. It’s a secondary school, so we deal with older kids who are getting ready for their future. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or fancy computer labs; we stick to the traditional ways of teaching with chalk and boards. The classrooms have wooden benches that have been around for years. During the peak of summer, it gets incredibly hot here, so we do our best to keep the fans going and the water cool. Most of our students come from the local families nearby. It’s a short walk or a quick bike ride for them. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just want these kids to pass their classes and be able to find decent work or go on to further studies. It is a simple life here, focused on the daily lessons. We know all the parents and they know us, which makes it feel like a real community school. We just keep things moving day by day.
