Usha Handicrafts

Usha Handicrafts is based in Shastri Nagar, specifically at B 325 in the Inder Verma Colony. It’s more of a residential area, so it’s a bit quieter than the main markets. We work out of this space, making various handicraft items. There’s usually stuff piled up in the corners—wood, fabric, or whatever we are working on that week. It’s a family-run thing, mostly. We don't have a big factory or anything. Just a few rooms where we sit and put things together. Some days we are busy with a big order, and other days we’re just fixing things or cleaning up. The neighbors know what we do, and sometimes they stop by to see the new stuff. We’ve lived and worked here for a long time. It feels right being in the colony. We don't really have a showroom. If someone wants to see our work, they just come to the house. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s how it is when you’re making things by hand. We use simple tools and try to do a good job. We don’t do much fancy marketing. People find us through word of mouth or if they live nearby. It’s steady work and it keeps us occupied. The light in the afternoons is the best for working on the small details. We just keep going, piece by piece, until the work is finished and ready.
