Umars Hair Saloon

Umars Hair Saloon is at shop number 16 on Sheyopur Road. We are in the Gulab Vihar area of Pratap Nagar, right by the Bank of Baroda ATM. It is a convenient spot since people come by to get cash and then realize they need a haircut. The shop isn't very big, but we make it work for us. We have the standard barber chairs and a row of mirrors on the wall. The floor is tiled and we sweep it constantly throughout the day. It gets busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We have a TV in the corner but the signal isn't always great, so it’s often just static. People usually just look at their phones while they wait for their turn. We don't have a fancy menu of services. We just do haircuts and shaves like any other local shop. The towels are always being washed and dried out back. We have some plants by the door that we try to keep alive. It feels like a regular neighborhood hang-out sometimes. We know most of the guys who come in. It is a simple life running a shop on Sheyopur Road. We don't have big dreams of being famous, we just want to keep the business going for our families. The sink leaks a little bit sometimes, but we have a bucket for that. It's a real place for real people.
