Our office is in the Lal Kothi Scheme at H-5, right on Shakaar Marg. It’s a pretty well-known area in Jaipur, near many of the government offices. The building we are in is an older one, and we have been in this same spot for quite a while. Inside, the walls are covered with old maps and some faded pictures of different places. We have a couple of desks with phones that seem to ring at the most inconvenient times. Shakaar Marg is always busy with people heading to work, so there’s a lot of movement outside our windows. We have a few chairs for people to sit on while we look through schedules and brochures together. The atmosphere is generally quiet, though, compared to the markets. We try to keep the place organized, but there are always stacks of itineraries and notes lying around. We have a small pantry in the back where we make coffee. Most of our day is spent talking to people about where they want to go and trying to figure out the best way to get them there. It’s a comfortable enough place, even if the carpet is a bit worn in the spots where people walk the most. We like being in Lal Kothi because it’s central and most people can find us without getting lost. We just keep things running as best as we can every day.
