The Samoovar Bagicha

Our place is right on Tonk Road, near the Gandhi Nagar Modh. It’s got a bit of a garden feel, which is why we call it Bagicha. We have some trees around and it stays a little cooler than the main road. We spend a lot of time watering the plants and making sure the outdoor area looks okay. It gets dusty because of all the cars going towards Tonk, so we are always cleaning the tables. People stop by for a break from the driving. We serve tea and some snacks. Sometimes the squirrels run across the roof. It is a bit of a slow life here compared to the city center. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who have been here for years. We know the neighbors and the people who walk their dogs nearby. The evenings are usually the busiest when the sun goes down. We put out the chairs and just wait for customers to come in. It's not a complicated business. We just wanted a place where there was some green space in the middle of all the buildings. Tonk Road is always changing, but we’ve stayed here at the Modh. Some days are quiet and some are very busy. We just take it as it comes. It's home for us now at The Samoovar Bagicha. We are just doing our best every day.
