Takshila Sr. Sec School

Takshila Sr. Sec School is out on Kund Road here in Behror. Being in Alwar, we get all kinds of weather, but the school stays open through it all. We have been part of this community for a long time. The building itself is sturdy, though it shows some age in certain corners where the paint has faded. That doesn't really matter much when the teaching is happening inside. We have a lot of students from the surrounding villages who travel quite a bit to get here every morning. The teachers are mostly local people who understand the life of the students here. We don't go in for all those high-tech gadgets you see in city schools; we stick to the things that work, like textbooks and lots of writing practice. The playground is where most of the action happens during the break times. You’ll see kids playing cricket or just sitting under the trees talking. It’s a very normal, local school environment. We handle the senior secondary classes, so things can get a bit serious when exams are around the corner. Everyone gets a bit stressed, but we push through together. We don't have a lot of meetings about synergy or anything like that. We just look at the schedule and teach the classes. It’s honest work, and we’re glad to be doing it for the families in Behror and Alwar.
