Swastika Carpets

We are over at 31, Takhte Shahi Road. It’s a busy street and sometimes the traffic gets loud, but we are used to it by now. The shop has been here for years, and most people in the neighborhood know where to find us. We mostly deal with carpets of all sorts. If you walk in, you’ll see piles of them stacked up against the walls. Some are heavy and others are a bit lighter. We spend a lot of our day just moving them around or showing them to whoever drops by. There’s always some dust in the air because of the wool, so we keep the fans going even when it isn't that hot. It is just me and a couple of others working here most days. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the afternoon rush. Sometimes people just want to talk about the designs or how long a rug will last in their living room. We don’t have a big fancy sign or anything like that. Just the name on the door and the address. It’s a simple way to make a living. We try to keep things organized but with so many rolls of fabric, it gets messy pretty fast. We just do our work and go home when the sun goes down. It is a quiet life on this road, and we like the people who stop in to say hello.
