Sunil Gautam & Co

Sunil Gautam & Co is tucked away in the Shekhawati Complex on Station Road. If you know Jaipur, you know how loud and busy it gets near the Polovictory Cinema. There is always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside, but once you get up to room 311, it gets a bit quieter. I’ve spent many years looking out the windows here. The office is full of old shelves and the smell of paper. It isn’t a very large place, but it serves us well enough for what we do every day. We usually get in early before the traffic on Station Road really starts to crawl. Sunil is often already at his desk by then, looking through documents or talking on the phone. We don’t have any of those glass walls or cool furniture like the offices in the tech parks. Our chairs have been here for years and they’re comfortable enough. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there talking until it comes back on. It’s a very local way of doing things, I suppose. People know where to find us because we’ve been here at this address for a long time. It’s just a basic office where we do our work and go home when the sun sets. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just us, the files, and the constant buzz of the city right outside our door.
