Splendid Indian Art

Our office is over at E-5 on the first floor along Gokhale Marg in the C Scheme area. It’s a busy part of the city, so there’s always something happening outside our windows. Splendid Indian Art is a small operation, really. We’ve got a couple of rooms where we keep our inventory and a small desk for the paperwork. It isn't a museum or a big gallery. It’s more of a working space where we organize and pack things. We spend a lot of time talking to the craftsmen who make the actual art. Sometimes they come by to drop things off and we spend an hour just catching up on news. We don't have a formal dress code or anything. Most days it’s just us in comfortable clothes trying to make sure everything is packed properly so nothing breaks. The building is older, so it has some character, like the creaky floors and the heavy doors. We’ve been here for a good while and the location is convenient for most people. We don't spend a lot on advertising because we prefer to let the work speak for itself. It’s a humble place, and we’re quite happy with the way things are going. We just take it one day at a time and try to stay busy without getting too overwhelmed by the city noise outside.
