Our place is No. 20 Sita Ram Puri, which is right across from the Blue Pottery on Amber Road. If you know that area, you know it gets a lot of people passing through to see the sights. We have been here for a while working with all sorts of textiles. It’s a dusty kind of job, especially being so close to the main road, but we don't mind it much. The shop is filled with different fabrics and pieces we have been working on. We aren't trying to be some big international brand; we are just local folks who know a lot about cloth and traditional styles. Sometimes we spend hours just looking at patterns and deciding what to do next. It’s a very hands-on process and we often have blue or red dye on our hands by the end of the day. The building is simple and we use every bit of space we have to store our materials. People often stop by because they are visiting the pottery shop across the street, and we enjoy chatting with them. We don't have a polished sales pitch. We just show people what we have and let them decide. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the traffic on Amber Road. We just keep our heads down and keep working on the textiles, making sure the quality is what it should be for every piece.
